4 Common Legionella Risk Areas in Water Systems [Infographic]

Any water system that has the right environmental conditions could potentially be a source for legionella bacteria growth.  Under general health and safety law, dutyholders including employers or those in control of premises, must ensure the health and safety of their employees or others who may be affected by their undertaking. They must take suitable precautions to prevent or control the risk of exposure to legionella, the first step usually being carrying out a legionella risk assessment.

The infographic below highlights 4 common legionella risk areas in domestic water systems. If any of these are identified on your water system, you must assess the risk, manage those risks and implement a control programme with records carried out and kept.
