Water Hygiene Services for Education

Supporting schools, colleges, universities and other education providers with Legionella risk management, water hygiene monitoring, sampling and remedial support.

Helping education sites manage Legionella risk

Schools, colleges and universities can present a range of water hygiene risks, from term-time closures and little-used outlets to showers, changing facilities, accommodation blocks, cold water storage tanks and calorifiers.

BrodexTrident supports education clients with Legionella risk assessments, water hygiene monitoring, sampling, reporting and remedial guidance to help keep water systems safe, compliant and well managed.

Temperature Control

Hot and cold water temperatures need to be monitored and managed as part of an effective control scheme.

Term-time closures and little-used outlets

School holidays, unused classrooms and intermittently occupied buildings can reduce water turnover and increase the risk of stagnation.

Washrooms, showers and changing facilities

Showers and other aerosol-generating outlets in sports, changing and accommodation areas require appropriate monitoring and maintenance.

Complex and ageing water systems

Large campuses, older buildings and later extensions can create complex systems, redundant pipework and areas that are more difficult to manage.

Hot and cold stored water

Cold water storage tanks, calorifiers and plant areas should be inspected, maintained and monitored appropriately.

Record keeping and audit readiness

Clear records help demonstrate that monitoring, flushing, sampling and corrective actions are being managed.

Education Sector FAQS:

How often should a Legionella risk assessment be reviewed in schools and education premises?

There is no fixed review period that applies to every education setting. The assessment should be reviewed when there is reason to believe it may no longer be valid, such as changes to the water system, building use, occupancy or control measures, or following significant findings, incidents or changes in guidance.
