Education establishments must provide safe and clean drinking water for their pupils. This requires schools to adhere to water treatment regulations and to undergo operational and compliance monitoring. Drastic implications will occur for those schools failing to satisfy these regulations. With this in mind, Brodex offer a full water treatment solution for the education sector.
The Health and Safety Executive are responsible for certifying whether education establishments are controlling and maintaining the necessary water standards. Brodex’s water education services use their advice and regulations as a guideline for all their water treatment assessments and monitoring.
Many people are responsible for maintaining the high quality water requirements of the education sector – this includes the employer, local governing body, head teacher and other members of staff. Brodex’s water treatment for education helps each person perform their role effectively in conserving a high quality of water in their school. If you’re in the education sphere, visit the HSE website to find out more about your responsibilities.
St. Winefride’s is a Catholic primary school in the Cheshire town of Neston used Brodex’s water treatment service for education. In this case study, the school’s two cold water storage tanks had become rusty internally so Brodex was called in to fix the problem. Rust found in water tanks is a deemed a high risk health and safety issue holding the potential to cause significant problems if taken orally or inhaled. To ensure a tank is rust-free and safe, they must be approved by the WRAS. Following our water specialist programme, St Winefride’s issue was resolved and the school’s water system worked safely and efficiently once again.
