Water Hygiene Monitoring

Under UK health and safety law, including the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974, every business or person in control of premises is required to carry out a risk assessment to identify possible sources of legionella in their building, and take action to control or prevent the risk if necessary.

Our service

BrodexTrident have extensive knowledge and expertise of the factors that contribute to legionella risk and have carried out risk assessments for a variety of sectors across the UK. Whether you have a spa pool or a high-risk population, our risk assessments are specific to the potential risks at your site and are compliant with the HSE’s Approved Code of Practice on Legionella Prevention, L8 and HSG274 Part 2.

What we do

  • Clean and disinfection of showerheads; the showerhead is dismantled, de-scaled and cleaned before being placed in a disinfectant and flushed with clean water.
  • Temperature monitoring of hot and cold water services from key areas throughout the premises.
  • Survey of any cold water storage tanks; temperature monitoring, visual inspection of the internal condition and highlight any remedial action identified.
  • Survey of any hot water storage vessels on site; temperature monitoring, visual inspection of the stored water condition and highlight of any remedial action identified.
  • Water sampling to UKAS accredited standard and sent to independant laboratory for testing for; TACC, E.Coli, Coliforms, Pseduomonas aeruginosa and Legionella bacteria.
  • Water sampling and analysis for heating and chilled systems.
  • Flush through and purge to the drain of any expansion vessels.
  • Servicing of thermostatic mixing valves; full report is completed with any additional recommendations.
  • Training for site staff on carrying out in-house monitoring tasks.

Water Hygiene for Brothers of Charity Services

Brodex was tasked with providing regular water hygiene services for Brothers of Charity Services, who support adults faced with learning disabilities across the Merseyside and Lancashire region.

Carers provide support to adults both offsite and at contact centres, as well as at the registered nursing home located at the Chorley site.
