Expansion Vessel Remedials

We carry out expansion vessel remedials to help restore safe, accessible and compliant system arrangements, from replacing failed vessels to fitting isolation valves, drain points and correcting unsuitable installations.

When should expansion vessel remedials be considered?

Expansion vessels can pose a water hygiene and maintenance concern when they are incorrectly installed, difficult to access, unable to be flushed, or no longer operating as intended.

Remedial works may be recommended following a Legionella risk assessment, site inspection or routine monitoring visit where the existing arrangement could increase the risk of stagnation, make maintenance difficult, or prevent effective inspection and flushing.

Our engineers can assess the existing installation and complete practical remedial works to help improve access, maintainability and system compliance.

Remedials may be required where:

  • The expansion vessel has failed  or is no longer operating correctly
  • The vessel is installed horizontally or in an unsuitable position
  • Isolation valves are not fitted
  • There is no drain point to allow flushing or maintenance
  • The vessel is difficult to access for inspection or servicing
  • The pipework arrangement may create stagnation risk
  • A Legionella risk assessment has identified the vessel as a corrective action
  • The existing installation does not support safe, practical ongoing maintenance

Why choose BrodexTrident for expansion vessel remedials?

Water-hygiene focused remedial works

We understand the water hygiene risks associated with poorly installed, inaccessible or unmaintainable expansion vessels, including stagnation risk and difficulty carrying out effective flushing or servicing.

Practical site-based recommendations

Our engineers can review the existing installation and recommend practical remedial works based on the system layout, access, maintainability and the findings of your Legionella risk assessment.

Support with ongoing compliance

Remedial works are completed with future inspection, flushing and maintenance in mind, helping dutyholders manage expansion vessels as part of their wider water hygiene control scheme.

What can expansion vessel remedials include?

Expansion vessel replacement or installation

Where an expansion vessel has failed, is unsuitable, or is missing from the system, we can replace or install a suitable vessel in line with the site requirements.

Isolation valves and drain points

We can fit isolation valves and drain points to support safe maintenance, flushing, inspection and future servicing of the expansion vessel arrangement.

Reconfiguration of unsuitable installations

Where vessels are installed in an unsuitable orientation, positioned incorrectly, difficult to access, or connected in a way that may increase stagnation risk , we can reconfigure the arrangement to improve maintainability and compliance.
